Other Training Services

Flexible Short Course Training, assessments and tuition can be provided on-site at times specified by you at sensible prices. Listed below are some of the most commonly requested training services. If there is any other areas that you may want assistance with please contact us.

Dangerous Goods Awareness

Under the new ADR agreement all staff who come into contact with dangerous goods are required to to have 'Awareness Training'. Conducted by a qualified DGSA our awareness training courses can be run on-site for any number of staff and usually are half-day in duration.

Competent Persons to Receive Fuel Deliveries

Under the DSEAR (Dangerous Substances & Explosive Atmospheres Regulations) all staff who participate in the delivery of fuel to forecourts and similar require training to ensure that they are 'competent persons'. The ACOP (Approved Code of Practice for Receiving Petrol Deliveries) details the requirements. This half-day training can be provided on-site.

Driving Assessments

All driving assessments are carried out by a DSA (Driving Standards Agency), Registered Driving Instructor. Assessments can be carried out annually for insurance purposes, employment of new drivers or after any incidents a driver may have had.

Drivers CPC Training

The Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for drivers is coming into effect on the 10th September 2009 for LGV drivers.

For drivers already holding an entitlement (Categories C1, C1+E, C, C+E) there will be a requirement for 'periodic training'. This periodic training will be recorded training of 35 hours completed every 5 years. The periodic training can be completed in blocks of at least 7 hours at anytime during the 5 years, so long as the total of 35 hours is completed prior to the 5 year expiry.

In order to retain the entitlement (Categories C1, C1+E, C, C+E) this training will have to be completed by all relevant drivers. Some of the areas that drivers will cover during this training will include:

  • The ability to optimise fuel consumption
  • Make drivers aware of the risks and accidents at work
  • Health & Safety
